The Dean of our Delegation's clergy, Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph Ambrosio, pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark, New Jersey has graciously invited our cavalieri and dame to assist in church robes at a Pontifical Mass next week. 

The special Mass will be celebrated by His Excellency, Bishop Arthur Serratelli, on the parish's patronal feast day, Thursday, July 16, 2020 at 7 pm. 

Seating is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions. If you plan on attending, please RSVP at this website ASAP so that the parish is aware of the number of attendees, and kindly reply to this email as well, so that our Delegation office is aware of the number attending.

A Note from the Delegate: Preparing for the Feast of Saint George

Dear Confratelli and Consorelle,

We are a few days away from celebrating the solemnity of our principal patron, Saint George, Martyr. He is one of the most ancient, revered and beloved saints of the Church, in both West and East. The patron of a number of countries as well as soldiers, he is also one of the Fourteen Holy Helpers.

From the very beginning of our Order as the Golden Militia, Saint George has been its main protector. He shall always be our constant companion, heroic model and heavenly friend as we imitate both his virtues and efforts in the glorification of the Holy Cross, the defense of the Catholic Faith and charity toward neighbor.

According to our Statutes, we are expected to assist at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on this holy day. This year of course, we are unable to do so in person because of the Coronavirus. However, each of us should do our best to worship Almighty God and honor Saint George, in union with our fellow knights and dames of the American Delegation, and the universal Order.

Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace, Very Rev. Canon Matthew L. Talarico (a chaplain of our Order and the Provincial Superior of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest) will celebrate a special Mass with homily for the feast of Saint George, on Thursday April 23 at 12 Noon EST.

Please make every effort to join your confratelli and consorelle ‘virtually attending’ this Mass in honor of our Patron.

During these preparatory days, we shall celebrate a triduum in honor of Saint George. Meditations and prayer texts will be sent out. Please remember in your prayers our Grand Master, Grand Prefect, the entire Royal House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, our Grand Prior and the rest of the Order’s officials, our American Delegation and all Delegations.

Let us also pray for the success of the Constantinian Order Charity’s efforts, and especially our own, as we generously seek to do our part in the battle against Covid-19 by providing vital supplies, equipment and resources to hospitals and healthcare workers.

May the glorious Saint George intercede for a swift end to the virus and the suffering it has caused, and may he continue to protect us all!

Solemn High Mass for the Feast of St. Joseph in Newark, New Jersey

The American Delegation of the Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George has been invited to assist at a Solemn Mass that will be sung on Thursday, March 19th, 2020 at 7:00pm for the Feast of St. Joseph at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 259 Oliver Street, Newark, New Jersey.

The Mass will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph F. Ambrosio, Pastor and Rev. Michael Barone will preach, both of whom are Chaplains of the Order.

In celebration of Msgr. Ambrosio's name day, after Mass, all are invited to a Traditional Italian Saint Joseph's Table in the parish center with music provided by the Bloomfield Mandolin Orchestra. The Mass will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Death of Ignatius Cardinal Kung Pin-Mei Bishop of Shanghai. The celebrant will be His Eminence Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke. Announcing the Third Annual Lepanto Conference in New York City

The Sacred Military Constantinian Order of St. George has been invited to attend in choir in church robes and decorations a Solemn Pontifical Mass from the Throne, at the Dominican Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, 869 Lexington Avenue (at 66th Street), New York, NY on Saturday February 15th at 11 am.

The Mass will commemorate the souls lost at the Battle of Lepanto to which our Order sent a fighting force, as well as persecuted Christians of our own day. The celebrant will be His Eminence Joseph Cardinal Zen, Bishop Emeritus of Hong Kong.

Masses for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross

Saturday, September 14th, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, is a feast of precept, one of the foremost feasts in the life of our Sacred Order and a holy day of obligation for our Order.  

Below are a few Masses to choose from that have been shared with our Delegation:

New Orleans:

Location: St. Patrick's Church, 721 Camp Street, New Orleans, Louisiana 70130 on Saturday the 14th September said by regional Chaplain, Fr. William Farge S.J. 

Mass will commence at 9:15 am and will be combined with the regular mass at that time members should arrive about 9:00 am to ensure all are in place for the start of Mass. Members will wear church robes, but we will not process and will have a reserved pew on the front right hand side. We will have several guests and please feel free to invite anyone you would care to.

We have not planned a meal afterwards but should attendees wish to do so we will organize an impromptu brunch on the day.

On Saturday, September 14, at 10:00 AM the Society of St Hugh of Cluny will be sponsoring a Solemn mass at the Shrine Church of the Most Precious Blood at 113 Baxter Street, New York. The Mass will be for the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross – but will take place amid the noisy tumult of the San Gennaro festival. it will also be two days after the twelfth anniversary of the first mass sponsored by this Society – also in New York City. Knight of Ecclesiastical Grace Father Richard Cipolla will be the celebrant, David Hughes will direct the music. We look forward to seeing you all once again in Little Italy!

Feast of San Gennaro in Little Italy, New York

Dear Confratelli and Consorelle,

We've been invited by our confratello, Cav. John Fratta, to serve as honor guard at the Solemn High Mass and Procession to celebrate the Feast of San Gennaro on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Church of the Most Precious Blood in New York City's Little Italy (113 Baxter Street). Mass begins at 6:00 PM and will be followed by a procession with the Statue of San Gennaro.

Missa Cantata for the Feast of St. Pius X in Windsor Terrace, Brooklyn

Celebrate the External Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Newark, New Jersey

The Very Rev. Msgr. Joseph F. Ambrosio, Priest Prior of the American Delegation, invites the Knights, Dames and Priest Chaplains of the Order to attend the External Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Newark on Sunday, July 14th. A Solemn High Mass will be sung at 5:00 p.m., followed by a grand procession through the parish accompanied by the Tony Neglia Feast Band. Following the procession there will be a light reception hosted by Msgr. Ambrosio. The parish will be hosting its annual Italian festival with stands in the streets and live entertainment at that time.

Knights, Dames and Priest Chaplains should vest in the Mount Carmel Rectory parlor at 4:30 p.m. The rectory is located at 259 Oliver Street, Newark, New Jersey. Church mantle for Knights and Dames, cassock, surplice and mozzetta for priests.

This is very much a major event annually for the Order. Please make every effort to attend. Remember that the members of the Order have an obligation to actively participate in its religious functions as their state in life permits.

We hope to see many of you on the 14th. Please do your best to attend.

Mass in Honor of the Feast of San Guglielmo di Montevergine (da Vercelli) will be celebrated at St. Dominic's Church in Washington, DC on Tuesday, June 25 at 7:15pm. Members of the Order will assemble at 7PM. Solemnity of the Sacred Heart in Kearny, New Jersey

Dear Confratelli and Consorelle,

Members of the Order have been invited to attend a Solemn Mass in honor of the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Friday, June 28, 2019 at 7:00pm.  It will be held at Father Joseph Mancini's parish, St. Stephen's Church (141 Washington Avenue, Kearny, NJ 07032).  Father Mancini, who was prohibited from attending our installation in April due to parochial obligations, will be invested into our Sacred Order that evening.  We strongly urge members of the Order to attend to show support if your schedule permits. 

This is an important occasion and we hope to have many members of the Order in attendance for this special evening.  Members of the Order who are able to participate will assist in choir in church robes.
